About the author

Prior to opening Danks Street Depot, Jared Ingersoll was head chef at Bayswater Brasserie after working in London at SoHo's Mezzo and Michelin two star The Square and Hillaire in South Kensington. Jared started café and cocktail bar Danks Street Depot in Waterloo, Sydney, with his wife Melanie Starr in February 2002. At the end of 2009, Danks Street Depot also opened at the Sydney International Airport and a new restaurant, Cotton Duck, opened in 2010.

Out of the kitchen, Jared makes numerous media appearances. He has, amongst other things, been a regular on Network 10's Ready Steady Cook and The Morning Show and writes a monthly column for Home Beautiful Magazine. He is brand ambassador for iconic whitegoods label Bosch and has represented Horticulture Australia and Slow Food Australia at Terra Madre.
He has published several cookbooks - Danks Street Depot and Sharing Plates. Slow Food: a passion for produce is his third book.
