Wholefood is about understanding the foundations of healthy food and eating - valuing food that is real. It begins with the premise that the more food is refined, processed, modified or boosted with chemicals, the more its inherent goodness is lost. The book also provides the recipe tools to incorporate wholefood cooking into practical everyday life.

Author Jude Blereau introduces readers to the basic wholefoods and the different ways to prepare them - fruit and vegetables, nuts and seeds, whole grains, beans and legumes (including tofu and tempeh), sea vegetables, natural sweeteners and good quality fats. Centred around these basics are inspiring recipes, from simple salads to slow-cooked stews, many of which cater for vegetarians, vegans and the gluten intolerant. The book also contains some fabulous meat dishes and a delicious desserts and baking section.

About the author

Jude Blereau is a natural foods chef, author, food coach, cooking teacher and real food activist who has been involved with the organic and wholefood industries for more than 20 years. In 1977 Jude co-founded The Earth Market, a much-loved whoefood store and cafe in Perth, Western Australia, and in 2001 she set up the Whole Food Cooking School. Her focus is on helping people learn about good food - what it truly is, where to get it, how to use it - and to give them the tools and information they need to make healthy eating a part of their everyday lives.
