New small softcover book, 136 pages, published 2010.
The importance of fresh fruit and vegetables as a key part of a healthy diet has never been more evident than it is now. As our lifestyles become increasingly urbanised and sedentary, we need to create links back to nature to gain perspective. And what better way to get that perspective than to grow our own produce and to enjoy the satisfaction this brings, together with the added benefits of healthy exercise and fresh air.
A garden of annuals, roses, trees and shrubs is a great asset. But the garden is not complete without the vegie patch, the herb plot and the fruit trees, bushes and vines. After the planting and the watering, imagine that exciting moment when you finally get to pick and sample the results of your very own work!
To the first time gardener, this book will spark your interest and make you keen to get started. For lapsed gardeners, this book will rekindle your enthusiasm. Keen and practising gardeners will gain a fresh perspective and be inspired to try new crops and methods. There's definitely something for everyone in Kitchen Garden
Includes colour photos and line drawings throughout.
