New large softcover book. 200 pages, published 2006. Great photography by Mark Chew, with dietary advice by Sue Shepherd, a dietitian who specialises in the treatment of dietary intolerances
Daily Italian gathers together Tobie Puttock's favourite Italian recipes, dishes he has discovered, reinvented and perfected while working as a chef in some of the world's great Italian restaurants.
Tobie's yen for simple food made from the best and freshest ingredients is evident on every page, as is his philosophy that a recipe is a blueprint, the point from which the creative cook at home can begin to explore and craft a dish based on personal taste, ability and dietary preference.
This simple, edgy and energetic cookbook is the result of that experience, with beautifully illustrated photographs it rewrites some of the rules and ignores others. But however far it pushes the boundaries of tradition, it sticks closely to the guiding principle of great Italian cuisine: that cooking is, if nothing else, an act of love.
Includes dietary advice for people with dairy intolerance, gluten intolerance (coeliac disease), lactose intolerance and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

About the author
Tobie Puttock's love affair with Italian food began when he was 18 and working in Melbourne's acclaimed Caffe e Cucina. The passion flourished as he cheffed his way across Europe, working eighteen-hour days in Italian speaking kitchens, taking time out for snowboarding excursions and the odd very long lunch in a mountainside trattoria. In London, Tobie worked at the River Cafe, widely regarded as that city's best Italian restaurant, alongside a bevy of high-profile chefs, including Jamie Oliver. He moved back to Melbourne, once again to an Italian kitchen, this time a place called Termini.
In 2006, Tobie opened a new Fifteen restaurant in Melbourne, serving ripper Italian food made with the best produce available and prepared with care, imagination and plenty of heart. As Director, he oversees the training program for employing and mentoring disadvantaged kids to become industry professionals.
Tobie is a regular contributor to Delicious magazine, and, along with his best mate, Matt Skinner, appears on the Lifestyle Channel. He appears regularly at events such as the Organic Expo & Green Show, Good Food & Wine Show, and Irresistible Gluten Free Food Show as well as giving demonstrations at cooking schools around Australia. He opened his new restaurant, The Kitchen Cat, in 2011
Tobie is the author of 3 cookbooks: Daily Italian, Italian Local and Cook Like An Italian.
